TK and Kindergarten Student Work
Project: Using color, shapes, and patterns to make tiny books with TK and Kindergarteners
Students received a paper template that included either a circle or an oval centered within the outlines of each of the six squares. They had the option to choose the shape they would like to use for their picture story. They could use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to create their drawings on the template, choosing any color, subject, or patterns they desired. Once their drawings were complete, pages were trimmed to size and folded to form their tiny books. The students shared their work.
Engaging and meditative project that combines creativity with math. An accordion book, which included drawings of flowers with faces, was reviewed with students as a guide. Emphasis was placed on the students to use their unique creative style.
